Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one session and without the need to switch between devices. They can also reduce space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot will have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is simple, and the quick-start guide can get you up and running in no time. It comes with a full dust bag, water tank and a hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can cleans up a mess and vacuums well too. The mops are spun at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a range of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly application that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For example, you can choose to have the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen areas but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models can't. Its only issue is that it is known to smash into walls and objects at a high speed. However looking at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you precisely what the robot has completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance tasks are required including emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time and the mop is capable of running for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is simple to use and intuitive that lets you view every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot mop and vacuum. It's not like the model from last year it comes with two agitators in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that allows it to pull up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners could miss.
As with the other two Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that helps it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they're an object that is a wall or a different surface. It can then change its direction automatically and clean around them without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tried and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons: the power button, that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin automatically refills.
The only downside I've discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. You can replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's not easy to take the mount off for washing manually. I've found that any plush carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these through the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor battery life. auto vacuum cleaner 'll need to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40

It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas, or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is user-friendly and simple to use and the X40's intelligent features are a breeze to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, see mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it is finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many features that make it a great option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes mop pads and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It also can detect when the mop pad is overflowing and alert you before it gets overflowing, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive on the market, but it packs in a lot of additional features that distinguish it from. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature in its mop, utilizes two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirty spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is a fantastic feature since it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a useful method to keep your home cleaner for longer.
There are a lot of options, including the option to schedule cleanings and change preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has many options to customize your cleaning routine. It also offers many features that aren't available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, with a white and metallic design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at 4kg however it's not overly heavy, and it feels sturdy and well-built. Mopping is well designed, and the double rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. They can even extend up to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature which is a nice touch.
